When ffmpegX has created a DVD directory structure, it is set to 1 title and 1 chapter, although the underlying dvdauthor program is capable of generating several chapter pointers. My suggestion is to include either a predeifined list of chapter pointers at say 10 min intervals and/or a user dialog box with space for a list of timestamps for user controlled chapter pointers.

being able to import chapter markers from iMovie would be nice

  4. If you know when the chaper markers should be, you can still do the last bit of dvd authoring manually from a shell, as long as you kept the MPEG-2 file after the mplex program stage.

    dvdauthor -t -v pal+4:3+720x576 -a mp2 -o DVD -c 10:00,20:00,30:00,40:00,50:00,1:00:00,1:10:00,1:20 :00,1:30:00,1:40:00,1:50:00,2:00:00,2:10:00,2:20:0 0,2:30:00 -f movie-0.mpg

    dvdauthor -T -o DVD

    mkisofs -dvd-video -udf -V DVD_MOVIE -o dvd.img DVD

In the example above, dvdauthor would put chapter markers every 10 minutes
