storage king,
If you were having a problem posting an image on this site, you could've asked someone right in the thread. Or PMd a moderator; they've been online all afternoon.
It's simple. If you name the file kprobe.jpg, for instance, just make sure it's less than 80kb, remember where you saved it, and type the following...
and then click on the browse button and find the image on your drive. Then you just click 'Submit' and it will upload. -
I'm sorry, but those KProbe scans constitute a coaster.
Since these were also done with a DVD-ROM reader, and not a burner, they are not accurate, and can not be compared to EMCA standards for ECC and block errors.
http://home.columbus.rr.com/disturbed1/ for some other KProbe Scans with a DVD-ROM.
I'll post some Prodisc 4x, TY 4x here in about an hour or so, also from a DVD-ROM, to compare to the NGN media. -

This gets better, firstly you refuse to accept the scans, then you try and compare them to scans you have done on completely different media on a completely different piece of hardware in a completely different system. You didn't even have the courtesy to use disks burnt at the same test speed.
You are all a joke.
As for coaster, my customers disagree whole heartedly, you all just refuse to listen to them since you are so high above them in your little egocentric worlds. -
ok indolikaa im trying yer method hope it works
edited by BJ_M -- to display image -- come on people, its not that hard
edit -- maybe it hard when the image is not on the server here - hehe -

I for one would not use this media for anything.
I thought perhaps, with NGN's big and mighty talk, that they could be different than the the other AN32 media. The KProbe scans speaks it loud.
I'm waiting for them to scan a Ritek or Taiyo Yuden disc and try to pass it off as an AN32 disc.
It doesn't matter what DVD-ROM was used to read the media, with errors that high that often, it's just crap. Nothing more to say, other than crap.
The funny part is, the Lite On COMBO drive has a better laser than my Lite On 165, so it actually reports less errors than it would be if I tested it. -
whatever man, you keep spouting your rubbish, people are not listening, sales are up this week, significantly, I am getting more hits from this website than I get from a paid 2M impression banner campaign on vcdquality (which is a lot). It seems there are like half a dozen of you who have a problem out of your self stated 80 000 members, their actions speak volumes about how they hold your opinion on this matter.
One of your members even posted me a pm with an apology in it for the way you guys have behaved on this forum.
You are wrong, swallow and get over it. -

i know u can read disc in dif modes.I know i always have loads of programs running on my computer at the same time even when burning,
dont judge these scans its probably better to wait for someone with proper hardware and testing facilitys to post -
He obviously didn't base it on this:

Now let's analize the graphs, shall we,
Look at the max PI and PO errors.
Look at the scan speed.
Look at the PI/PO sum.
When you go to CDFreaks, they use DVD-Burners. DVD Burners to read back the media. These give different results than a DVD-ROM does. Read the sticky in the forum, and it will also explain what the errors mean.
What's funny is that in thread that NGN linked too, there's a scan of what they call "A bad scan of a DVDR disc" which looks about like the AN32 disc posted above.
That's funny I don't care who you are. -
You almost lost me too, disturbed1, until I noticed your range was smaller. I don't think most would catch on to that, not without a point-out.
Yeah, I agree, the kprobe scan for Naked-Geek shows something that resembles Princo or CMC. Typical AN32 crap. Those scans show areas of likely data loss.
I'd still love to burn/scan for myself, though.
Any way you can scan one in Nero CD-DVD Speed?Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

First combo drives and DVD-ROM drives are not very accurate for KProbe scans but if the scans are near true values they would be way over the DVD specs which states max 280 PI per 8 consecutive ECC blocks (storage king used a setting of PI/PO per 1 ECC block). PO/PIF errors are only specified in the DVD+R/RW standard where it should be max 4 per ECC. Those graphs of NGN media here have an average >4...
If you want to know how good 4x media burnt @8x can look like I suggest you check out this thread. -

I didn't post the TY scan, because it is much better. The PO max is also 3, but the average is .57-.56. PI is usually under a peak of 15, with an average of 1.1-0.9.
Geeks media has a PI Max of 208, and a PO max of 208. The numbers 208 is the highest KProbe can read, so it faults at that level, it can't report an error level higher than 208.
PI average of 23.739
PO average of 4.586. That's freaking 4.586 compared to 0.632.
A disc that peaks above 30 on PI and above 5 on PO will skip in my test players. The last part of the NGN media would be completely unreadable in most set top players. -
I thought the PI/PO Sum ECC was supposed to be set at 4?
You scan shows it set at 1. -
If you`re going to show k-probe scans they have to be done by a liteon dvd burner at 4x speed unchecked at 8ecc and not a liteon combo at 8x speed checked or you will get wildly inaccurate readings,i can set my scans to show 1/6 of what proper testing will really show, you cant argue and say we told you so and show this type of errant readings, show a proper kprobe and then you can berate us.
I think,therefore i am a hamster.
