I recently joined two SVCD MPEG-2 files into 1 using FileMerger (TMPGEnc was giving me all kinds of problems with its Merge/Cut). I no longer have the original files, only the big one...
My problem is that the timestamps in the file and stuff are all fux0red now. WinDVD will play the movie fine, but it has the time all wrong, and anytime I try to do anything with it in TMPGEnc such as demux it only ends up working on the first half and ignores the second half entirely.
My VOBs also get screwed up if I patch the header and try authoring a DVD.
Can anyone help me fix my MPEG?![]()

I can't use restream to fix it because I'd have to demux the MPEG first, and demuxing it won't work, at least not in TMPGEnc due to the way that it was originally merged from two parts with FileMerger (it only demuxes the first half and pretends like the second half doesn't exist).[/quote]

I'm not sure there's anything you can do to fix your improperly joined file. Next time join with Womble MPEG2 VCR.
Use TMPGEnc "Merge and Cut" and the "Edit" button to save out 2 seperate files, then join them with Womble. File Merger and mpeg-2 video don't mix very well as you have learned. -
I'd like to thank everyone who tried to help. Unfortunately nothing suggested worked, so I had to do it manually...
Took FULL and loaded it up in TMPGEnc in MPEG-Tools/Multiplex and chose a new filename (PART1). This in essense recreated the original first half of the movie because TMPGEnc wasn't reading beyond its end in the FULL file anyways. =)
Then I used WinHex to compare PART1 to FULL and figure out what hexadecimal values should appear at the end of the first half of the movie. Finding them, I selected the entire block representing the first half and deleted it, exporting to a new file (PART2). Cake.
