Major Problem Capping

I'm using a Pinnacle PCTV Rave card, This problem only started happening recently and I have no idea why. Whever I start capping, the program freezes and will not close (even when I try to close it using task manager) and then any programs I load after that freeze also and I cannot shutdown. This happens with every program I've tried ~ VirtualDub, Vegas 3, Vegas 4, Windows MovieMaker2 and the crappy software you get with the PCTV Rave card. I've tried all the usual stuff (updating drivers etc) to fix this but nothing seems to work. I don't know much about this sort of thing, but I've looked in the Device Manager and there is 'Legacy Audio Drivers' and Legacy Video Capture Devices' and it's impossible to uninstall them. They weren't there when I first installed the card, could they be causing a conflict? How do I get rid of them?

Since all programs have the problem, have you tried a sustem restore yet?

Yeah, I tried that. Didn't help.

your PCI card is probably on an IRQ shared slot try to change it to another one.
