  1. I have ripped a DVD and I would like to add another video to the DVD (probably as another TITLE). The extra video I want to add is from another DVD. It has VOB, IFO, and BUP files of its own.

I don't want to re-author the menu. I don't need the extra video to be accessible from the menu. All I want is to be able to access the extra video by selecting the TITLE using my DVD player.

I've heard of people doing this before. Can anyone give me exact instructions on how to do this?

    thanks

If you don't mind loosing the menu it's quite simple to do with Re-Author in DVD Shrink. But you say that you don't want to re-author the menu therefore you need to do some serious modifications. So exact instructions, no. I don't know your DVD structure so I can only give you an overview of what you need to do.

It's complicated so you need to have some understanding of the DVD commands and know how to use IfoEdit. Do you?

  3. Yes, I have some understanding of the DVD commands and know how to use IfoEdit.

I've seen other posts that say to put the vob and its ifos of the extra video into the video_ts folder of the existing dvd, then open the dvd in IfoEdit and use "Get VTS sectors".

They claimed to have success, but I tried this and i can't get it to work.

There was another post here on the DVDRherlp.com forums which showed how to manually add another title using IfoEdit, but i can't seem to find it again.

  4. Ok. This is what you need to do.

I assume the second title is a movie-only, i.e. no menu (otherwise forget it; I've posted couple of times on how complicated it is). Rename the VTS_01_x.* files in the second DVD to VTS_02_x.* (or VTS_03_x.* if you have more than one VTS in the first DVD) and copy them to the directory of the first DVD.

There browse through the Ifo files with IfoEdit and find a GPRM that's not used. For the VIDEO_TS.IFO table VMGM_PGCI_UT; for the VTS*.IFO files tables VTS_PGCITI and VTSM_PGCI_UT. Click on each PGC and scroll down to the command table. Say you find that GPRM15 is not in use.

Then in the VIDEO_TS.IFO file put as a first pre command of the Title Menu PGC - if GPRM15 = 1 jump to title 2 (or 3 or x if the first DVD had more than 1 title). After that put Assign GPRM15 = 1. When you add pre commands I think IfoEdit always adds them at the end (but I'm not 100% sure) so you may need to add two commands, copy all existing commands two rows below and then modify the first two.

Then in the VTS_02_0.IFO file (or VTS_03 or VTS_0x) put as a first pre command of the first PGC Assign GPRM15 = 0. As a post command put Call Title Menu. Any other commands (pre or post) delete them.

Basically what you achieve here is that when the last title is played GPRM15 is 0, when any other part of the DVD is played it's 1. So when you press Title on your remote you jump to the Title Menu PGC and first thing it checks if GPRM15 is 1. If so, jumps to the last title. If not it makes it 1 and continues playing so that next time you press title it will.

Last in the VIDEO_TS.IFO file you need to modify the VMG_PTT_SRPT and VMG_VTS_ATRT tables to add the new title/VTS.

I've never done this myself so I can't garantee that I haven't forgotten something but if you can't make it work or don't understand something let me know.
