  1. Can i burn both the AUDIO and VIDEO folders that i have made with svcd2dvd and also put a .avi file on dvd and have it still play on my dvd player?

    Example:

    D:\ - contains:
    AUDIO_TS
    VIDEO_TS
    movie.avi

can i do that? so that the .avi is only meant for watching on pc, or whatever...but can it still play on a dvd player? ...or will the .avi mess up the way the dvd is read (video)

    Thanks

  2. you can burn the avi file, but don't think it will play back on your standalone player.
Simplest way to find out is to burn a rw disk and see what happens.
    Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping...

I've seen posts here from some people who have DVD set-top players that'll play an MPEG directly off a data-formatted DVD. That would eliminate the need to author if you want it simple. Not sure how it would handle menus and chapters if it can even do that.

  5. yes you can burn it this way, the standalone dvd-player will only look at the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders... most DVD authoring programs even have an option to include data files like this on a DVD-video
