Some movies are under 4.7 gig, so a straight rip using DVD Decrypter and Nero to reburn seems a good way to make a backup.

However, a lot of movies that aren't excessively long still show 7-8 gig when you open them in DVD Decrypter. Why? Is this because there is both widescreen and fullscreen versions on the same disc? Is it possible to rip the movie onto a 4.7 gig disc (by disabling or removing one of the two versions)?

I've heard DVD Shrink is the best way to treat movies that are larger than 4.7 gig. Does Shrink separate the files into two discs or does it compress all the files to fit on a single disc? Is Shrink able to remove the widescreen version, thus creating a movie that will fit on a 4.7 gig DVD-R?

If using DVD Decrypter in ISO mode (Read), will it create an iso that requires two discs to fully burn or create an iso that needs a 9 gig DVD to complete?

If using DVD Decrypter to rip the disc to HD, then next using DVD Shrink, which setting on DVD Decrypter should be used? (File, IFO, or ISO)?

    Your help is appreciated.
