Hi, I know this has probably been answered before and I have done alot of searching in the forums to find the answer but I have drawn a blank. What I want to do is put 2 or even 3 films that I have dl as avi's and then converted to play on my stand alone (won't play VCD or SVCD) on to a single DVD-R disc. This is because I have 2 films as I said that are only 1.5g or there abouts and so don't want to waste discs. Now here we meet my problem, I can find guides that use DVD Shrink in the Reauthor mode which is great but I want to put a simple menu at the beginning so I can pick which film to go to.
If any one can help that wouild be gratefully appreciated.
    Cheers

Firstly, if you have downloaded the files and they are AVI, what does DVD Shrink have to do with it ?

You need to work out the entire running time of the two or three movies you wish to put on 1 DVD. I would add 5 minutes to the running time to allow space for the menu. Then work out the required bitrate to make this happen using the bitrate calc here. Re-encode all films to MPEG-2 using TMPGEnc and author and create menus using TMPGEnc DVD Author.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    are only 1.5g

Use an authoring program to make the menus, then use DVDShrink to make it fit.

How have you converted these films, the bitrate must be horrendously low

The best way I know to get 3 or even 4 movies on a DVD is to encode to VCD Mpeg1 using TMPGenc . Then use TMPGenc DVD Author which will convert the audio from 44.1k to 48k to make it DVD compliant. You can add menus and chapters for each film .
You can play them back on any DVD player and you can get around 7.5 hours of video on 1 DVD-R
