Hallo.
My holiday mpeg2 source clips are in both of formats, ie. half of the day is 4:3 and another half is 16:9.
Is it possilble to have such clips authored on one dvd.

pikpus, I believe you just have to make 2 separate tracks, 1 for the 4:3 clips, and one for the 16:9 clips.
I have done this in dvd author. -
Yes, you need an authoring application that can make multi VTS DVDs. TMPGEnc DVD Author, as reckless67 mentioned, is one that is capable. If the one you use isn't, then there are couple of workarounds. One is to put the 4:3 clip as a menu (if the application can make motion menus). The other one is to encode the 16:9 clip as 4:3 letterboxed (i.e. widescreen with black bars top and bottom).

as stated....very easy to mix on same dvd using different tracks with TDA. It can be downloaded as a 30-day fully functional trial if you don't have it
