  1. i encoded a movie using TMPGEnc Plus-2.521.58.169, using GSpot I determined the movie is XviD.

after encoding the end result file is 5.13GB ( which is i figured was no big deal i will just use dvdshrink ) , but when i played it using BSPlayer i noticed the movie is 6 hours long. Now it plays fine but after the movie is finished at approx. 90 min. it is just black for the remainder 4 and half hours it plays.

other than that the sound file and video file seam to sync and everything?

can anyone help plz? thank you.

I suspect your source file has VBR audio, extract the sound to wav and use that as the audio source when you encode with TMPGEnc. You can use Virtualdub to extract but I prefer Goldwave. In Goldwave just load the avi then save.

You need to do it over. Extract the audio from the Xvid so that you end up with a 16-bit stereo 48k PCM WAV audio file. As ZippyP. said this can be done with GoldWave but there are other methods that work as well.

Once you have done that go back to TMPGEnc and load your AVI as your video. It will also load automatically as your audio but check audio and load your seperate audio file. It will now read that the video is from the AVI but the audio is from your PCM WAV file.

Now all should be good when you do your encoding.

  7. I don't know if any1 here knows this but if you download AVI2VCD it comes with an avi audio decompression tool that's super simple and you wont have to deal with any of that vbr crap when you load it into vdub or tmpgenc. It cuts so many corners for encoding, dont have to extract audio with "any" file you decompress with that tool and it only takes like 3 min to do it. Super easy and saves time.
PS the encoder totaly licks nob but that decompress tool is the shit and you dont lose any audio quality. It works for ac3 too...

  8. ok i did everything as we disgussed above and the end result is this:

the end result video and audio files seem to be perfect when checked seperately with BSPlayer.

after going thru the process of TMPGEnc DVD Author, the end result is choppy audio and video seems to hang with choppiness.....

i did a scan for bad frames on the video with VirtualDubMod_1_5_10_1_All_inclusive, which found nothing.

any ideas on what the problem could be..........

once again individually these files seem perfect.

The problem could be because you used MP2 audio the first time ... many NTSC DVD players do not like MP2 audio.

Better off sticking to PCM WAV or better yet AC-3 for DVD audio.
