  1. First, what I used to do: Use Nero to directly burn a VCD.

Now what I do, since I'm forced to use a burner that neither Nero nor VCDEasy recognizes:
Use Nero to create an NRG image.
Use MagicISO to convert the NRG to ISO.
Burn the ISO image using RecordNow, the program that this CD burner uses.

When I try to play the VCD, my DVD recognizes that it is indeed a VCD and the number of tracks on the VCD, but it won't play any of the tracks. When I try it on my computer, I can view all the contents of the VCD, but not play the DAT files.

I have no idea where I've gone wrong.

  2. I'm having the same problem, I want to create a ISO file from a VCD and I just can't.

WinISO will create an ISO file but once burned a home dvd player won't play it since it will think it is an audio CD.

Then EasyVCD can only create .bin files

Finally Nero can only create .nrg file.

Which program can we use to create a ISO vcd or convert a .nrg or .bin to ISO (WinISO and UltraISO won't do...)

  5. I've actually done this not only with Nero but with VCDEasy as well. I used it to make a BIN file and convert it to ISO. This one gave me the same problem. DVD Player and computer know it's a VCD and can see all the contents but can't play any video.

You have to use the cue file in conjunction with the bin when converting to another format because it contains the actual burning parameters. Open the cue file with UltraISO, then convert to ISO. Try installing Alcohol 120% and see if it recognizes your drive. Alcohol can burn bin and cue images no problem.

  8. I'm using Nero 5.5.9.17.

teegee, I understand that the cue file needs to be used with the bin file, but for Nero, there is only one file, the NRG file. Howcome this results in the exact same problem?

  9. Im allergic to Nero, using Burnatonce which supports both iso and bin/cue/toc. Tried if that one find your burner?
