Vista DVD Maker (isn't working)

i put about 450 photos into the dvd maker. formatted transitions and effects.

but, ERROR SYNCHRONIZING VIDEO appears when i click on the NEXT button to move to the preview page. then, on the page where a preview is possible CANNOT SHOW PREVIEW (or something like this) appears when i click on PREVIEW.

this is a new laptop. everything else seems to be working fine.
if anyone can help...

I also just purchased a new media center computer and had a similar problem. My solution was to slow down the burn speed (go to options in DVD Maker) and also to switch to a higher quality media with better reflectivity that is more easily picked up by the burner.

Bob, I'm having a similar issue, and would love to find the forum you mentioned. Can you provide the link the very informative discussion in Windows Vista Community Forum. Search "Myths folk lore and tips on burning CDs and DVDs from Windows". Only your message comes up when I search those terms, and I can't seem to find the WV community forum.
