  1. No pun intended, I need to know if the AVT-8710 will kill even the newest form of Macrovision, CGMS/A (or whatever it is).

I have found a local distributor who has one, but I am not spending the money on it if it can't do the job.

I've been trying to back up some anime DVDs that I have, so that the originals can stay safe while the backups are played (not always by careful hands). However, I've recently found the protection on many companies' disks are impossible to crack. ADVision among them.

Any help would be appreciated? Anyone ever try to backup an anime DVD to DVD-R using the 8710?

    I've got a RV-31 to an E50 for DVD - DVD-R work, and a Sony SLV-575UC - E50 for VHS to DVD-R work.

I can no longer get the old DVD-tape-DVD-r method to work. Used to, but not now. The protection gets recorded onto the tape, and I can't beat it. Hence, I need info on the 8710. Thanks!

Bob .. now that you mentioned that you do VHS to DVD, aren't you finding that the 8710 unit introduces a kind fo fuzziness/mosquito-noise effect (even with the sharpness turned down)? I certainly am
