Hi,
I bought a pack of verbatim DVD disks for authoring. My burner doesn't recognize these disks. Is there anything that can be done to make it?
Thanks,

Negative.
Depending on the discs in question, they will either only work on a Pioneer S-101 (3.95 GB) or Pioneer S-201 (3.95 GB or 4.7 GB) SCSI recorder. Prices vary, the S-201 runs about $5000 currently, on the used market you may be able to acquire one for maybe as little as $500 though.
Those discs are "special" because they're recorded with a smaller wavelength laser and have a special "cutting master format" region which stores DDP information, thus usable as a master for replication purposes.
Did you have a special project in mind wherein you needed to use authoring media?
