Save yourself a lot of money, don't buy it on ebay. You'll get ripped off on both the price and the shipping charge. Any retailer will have a model for under $300.00. Just go to Walmart as last resort.

  3. You might try Pricewatch.com. Sellers are rated there and I've given up on ebay after being ripped off one time too many.

    Good luck@!

I've bought two Panasonic E50S DVD Recorders.

First one ... Walmart ... sold for $386 online back in Nov 2003. Add shipping and tax ... $430. No problems at all.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    2nd one ... Ebay ... Final total price >>> $329.99

... Any problems ... well there is a problem ... I have a problem using the cheap CompUsa DVD-R 1X 10 packs for $8 bucks. They record just fine but to finalize them I have to use the other unit that is in the bedroom.

But if I use Ritek DVD-Rs ... no problems.

  5. first...do a research in stores, see what you find and what prices...
then, go on ebay, and see what you find and what prices....
don;t get surprised when the prices are higher....and usually are.....

I usually don't spend more than $100 on ebay, and this is if the pirce is better or I can't find it somewhere else..

for this stuff....go in the store, if something happens you can return it back......

Aaahhh ... what the heck .... live dangerously ... only negative I can say is I would keep looking perhaps because I live in California and would want to avoid the state tax. I was bummed with Wal-Mart ... I had to pay sales tax. Because there is a Wal-Mart in every state in the USA

I bought one on Ebay [$310 + shipping] ... it's in my living room ... works fine ... except for cheap media. Works great with Maxell DVD-RAM ... from Wal-Mart stores.

Ebay link was working just now >>

Flex-Recording ... at 3 Hours looks very decent with DVD-RAM.

I missed the 1st hour of Stargate on last Monday nite.

I record Sci-Fi channel Monday nites ... StarGate SG-1 ... non stop for 4 hours. If I walk away and miss something ... I go back and check it out while it keeps recording.

I bought a JVC GR-DVL820 mini-DV video camera ... stopped working 1 day later ... I sent it back UPS to Ebay seller and he refunded my PayPal account. $300 dollar transaction. I found out a few weeks later it was the micro-fuse inside that needed fixing. I passed the info on to the seller ... so he can get it fixed and resell it.

I had been ripped off quite many times for some items other than electronics and I was stupid once, twice etc. No more eBay for me for the rest of my life. Period!
