When trying to burn .img files with DVD Decrypter "Latest Version" or burn newly authored DVD's with TMPGEnc "Latest Version" DVD Author, I tend to experience cold lockups at some point during the burning process. These lockups totally freeze me up, mouse included and I'm forced to manually reboot my system. Now whats odd is that Nero "Latest Version" has absolutely no problems whatsoever burning any sort of DVD or DVD image. In fact I have yet to make a coaster with it. But what really gets me is that both DVD Decrypter and TMPGEnc DVD Author both used to work fine without no problems whatsoever. One day they just decided to stop working and I've not been able to burn a dvd since. Anybody have any ideas whatsoever, since I'd like to be able to use these programs to burn...
Firmware on my Pioneer is 1.33
OS - Windows XP Pro
Note -> I'd tried burning with different media too, so I dont think the problem is media related.

i had the same exact problem. Turns out dma 33 and nforce drivers dont go to well. I had to switch it to PIO mode at first.
But if your your using a Nforce2 M/B, dont install the IDE driver when it asks you too, just stick with the MS one. And then DMA33 should work
If you dont have Nforce2, try PIO mode. -
Had a feeling those drivers might be a problem. I've having problems with my Plextor Cd Burner every since installing that motherboard, so thought it could be some compatibility problem between the board and plextors, but my DVD drive had never had any problems so was wondering whats up with. I'll definitely be changing those drivers though...
