No such thing. If the CMC's work good for you no reason to stay away from them. Dont go with what you hear and go with your own experience.

I stay away from Ritek and will gladly buy CMC. Does it mean one is better than the other? No. It just works out so for me.

    Period.

I too have used many CMC blanks and have had no problems. I only buy well known brands though, Memorex, Maxell, Imation, ect. I don't buy bilk from internet sites because when someone does get a bad batch of say Riteks, everyone just says they are fakes or less than "A" rated disks. There is no way to tell what you are really getting, at least with a name brand from a local retailer you could return them if you have a problem fairly easily. Anyway, I have used CMC + and - media will no problems.

  7. Be careful with these. I bought two Philips 50 packs at Office Depot. One was fine. The second contained thirty consecutive bad disks, all scratched at the outside edge in exactly the same pattern. They were CMC.

I bought some 30 jewel cases of Memorex 4x DVD-R and they were made by CMC. About 70% were good. About 30% burnt to the 80% mark and died! The jewel cases were pretty good!

My CMC's DVD+R burn beautifully on my NEC ND-2500A. In fact, at 4x they burn even better than the RicohJPN. The only downside is that they burn at 4x while i can burn the Ricoh at 6x. Other than that, I have had great results.

Never tried the -R CMC. Although, I have heard that the NEC burn them great too. A lot of previous CMC dyes did have issues but the CMC MAG F01 seems to be quite good, and the discs have come a long way.
