Just got a Iomega 8X that does + and - but after all the excitement of burning dvdrw's (+)at 4X I have found out my Sony Laptop DVD-CDRW won't read the discs!
I use my machine at home to capture movies and rewrite to dvd for watching on my laptop.
I'm using Memorex and wondering if this a "brand" problem or a simple case of me not doing my homework ahead of time....
Guess I could return the drive but writing 4X instead of 2X to DVDRWs is pretty nice.
My question is basically, is there a "firmware fix" for the writer to write compatible DVD+RWs that my laptop can read?
My 8X Super Drive is internal atapi not USB.
Thank you ahead of time for any help, please take it easy on the flames if I missed a search result...
