    It appears that several the DVD burners will do a DVD-R for a stand alone DVD player that is 2nd generation. Is there a way to tell if I have one before I go out and buy one the burners?

    i've heard from quite a few people that one of the next generation dvd players will be capable of playing triple-layer discs..
