  1. Hi all

I have the Philips 737 dvd player and up to now it has played almost everything including xvid.
Recently, however, the following problem occurred.
Some xvid videos play fine on the pc, but when I play on the standalone, I get sound, but no picture. I have pressed the zoomX2 button, and the picture appears(distorted), but when I zoom again to normal the picture disappears. It is as if the picture has been covered by a black screen.
I have also tried re-encoding the movie, but the quality is horrendous.
    Any ideas anyone?

  2. gspot the fiiles and check for B-vops and Gmc also interleaving and Ac3 sound or vbr mp3 .also the firmware version of your player what software plays them back on your pc, and what version of xvid was used to create them. Does re-encodingf them allow them to play (regardless of quality??)
Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

  5. It seems that the problem is that the philips 737 dvd player doesn't play files with B VOP. How can I get rid of my existing files that have B VOP? Can I use virtual dub?
    Any help would be appreciated

  6. Well it wasn't as tough as I thought. I simply needed to upgrade the firmware to 1.4.35. Previous firmware didn't like B VOP. So anyone else out there who has been having the same problems, there is now a solution.
Thanks to RabidDog for putting me on the right path.
