  1. I understand what interlaced video is and the purpose of it. I understand the importance of deinterlaced video. My question is how do you know if your source video is interlaced?

I get my source video from a variety of sources and do not have a way of knowing if the video was created using a interlaced or progressive scan method. Is there a way that I am able to determine if a source video file is interlaced or not?

    Thanks

I know its probably a clumsy way but I read the DVD into Nero Recode and it has an Info tab which gives out that info and other useful stuff.

  4. Rommie,

Thanks for the response. I actively use GSpot and I am unaware of a interlaced status field. If you are aware of one, can you please point it out to me?

Also, the Nero Recode is a $50 application which is a far more complex package than what I was expecting to answer a question on the interlacing status.

    Thanks
