  1. When I ty to extract an MPEG2 file from an SVCD using vcdgear of isobuster in Win2K I get read errors at 99%. When I do the same thing with the same settings in Win98SE there are no problems. This only happens with SVCD's I burnt from bin/cue images. When I burn an MPEG2 file as SVCD and try to extract it it goes ok. Weird, not?

  2. Why would you want to "extract" the MPEG file of an SVCD? Why not simply copy the file from the MPEG2 dir to your HDD?
There are only 10 types of people in the world:
    Those who understand binary
    and those who don't.

Because doing that doesn't remove the mode2/cdxa header which causes some programs to not recognize the mpeg. If it were me, I would use VCDEasy to create an image and extract the mpeg. If you get read errors when creating the image you might have a bad disc due to bad media.

If the SVCD has a normal mpg file you don't need to extract anything. Just de-multiplex the mpg with TMPEG's mpeg tools option.
