I'm trying to make a backup copy of Spy Kids 3 which is about 7.5 GB.
DVD shrink shows a compression of 58% and an error saying it's to big and the DVD may not play. When I pick "continue anyway" I eventually get a msg to insert a DVDR with more space.
Any suggestions on what I can do.

    thanks

    ps...I'm fairly new at this.

You could try using DVDShrink in Re-Author mode and take out the menues and extra's. Also take out any audio tracks you do not need. I personally only backup the movie. I don't need the menue's and extra's. I never watch those anyway.

    Hi,
I use DVD Shrink 3.15 andusing Nero 6 to burn it with no problem. Yes, it show 58%, you can remove spanish , french .. it can go up to 60%+ , click on back up to save in your hard drive (create Audio and Video folder) and use Nero to burn. I tried this way and tried with CloneDVD 1.3 for disk 2 with no problem. Disk 1 is for 3D, disk 2 is 2D but the same movie with all the option.
    Good luck

Some DVD's are too large for DVD Shrink's compression range. I've never seen one that could not be compressed by deleting audio streams, especially if there is a DTS stream. DVD2ONE will compress more than DVD Shrink and you could always give DVD Shrink a second pass.

  6. I used InstantCopy 7. Turned out great.

  7. I'm struggling with the copy protection on SpyKids 3D, both DVDDecrypter and AnyDVD fail to get passed the CSS keys (both latest versions).

Which piece of s/w did you use when you did your backup?

    cheers

  8. I used DVDShrink 3.16 Main Movie only. (AC3 and subs)

No problem and with 100% quality. I did it twice with two DVD's, one for the regular version and an other for the 3-D. As long as you only do main movie only and only one soundtrack, you should have no problems and keep the same quality.
For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!
