  1. mpc latest version 6480, QT ver 130.

From windows explorer I double click a mov file - mpc pops up and loads it.

Audio plays fine, but video window has the remnants of the windows explorer window in it (with unused space transparent to show desktop.

Now - this has only happend after 1) resinstalling XP, and 2) upgrading mpc from 6478 to 6480 (done right after xp reinstall).

A few things have changed - My motherboard died, and to get up and runnign I scrounged a p2-266 & MB. So I've gone from a p3-800/512 ram/G4-mx440 to a p2-266/384 ram/onboard tnt.

Anyone have any idea what's gone wrong?

  2. Duh!

I just re-read my post and thought about that video chipset....

It can't render 2d/2d surfaces they way the Geforce4 could.

I turned off the render to 2d/2d selection and set it back to the first basic option - now all works fine!
