When I re-author a backup, I delete all unnecessay files such as subpictures etc. I also delete all of the audio files with the exception of AC3-6 ch. English. Since I only have a stereo setup would AC3-2 channel sound be sufficent for my needs or is AC3-6 channel the way to go for the best sound experience. If I delete all of the additional audio files does the main title also the audio track with the movie .... thanks to those who respond.

Most DVD players downmix the 5.1 to 2 channels for the stereo outputs. Mine actually downmixes to Dolby Surround. I'd keep the 5.1 audio, since you can get a surround stereo system for well under $100 in the future.

Using the 2-channel(192 bit) instead of 5.1(448 bit) audio stream will allow about 250MB's more for the video stream for the average movie. To me video qaulity is more important. 192 bit sound is roughly CD quality but not surround of course.

  4. inless the movie will fit. i normally go with the 2.0 if it has one. the audio never was very important to me even though i have a surround system. just as long as it works.
