  1. Hi, I'm trying to encode multiple tv episodes onto one dvd. My method is:

    1 rip with Smartripper
2 DVD2AVi to create project file for TMPGEnc
    3 TMPGEnc to 1600 kbps m1v, 160 kbps mp2 (48khz)

From here I've been using TMPG DVD author, but this time I want to use a more complicated navigation, so I switched to DVDMaestro.

After I compiled everything, I played the VOB files off of the hard drive with PowerDVD and they were all messed up.
The audio plays normal and constant, but the video looks like someone's playing with the fast forward and pause buttons.

So what's wrong here? Can Maestro not handle mp1 files or something? Is there a setting I have to change somewhere?

    Any help, thanks
    K

Nothing is wrong with DVD Maestro.

You could try another player and select to play a dvd from your hd instead of just playing the vob files. And test on your standalone dvd player(use rw media).

And please post dvd to dvdr relates questions in this forum.

  3. sorry about wrong forum. hard to tell which one is right sometimes. I was recently told that PowerDVD is more forgiving than other players. And I've had movies that played in PowerDVD that didn't work in my standalone. So I figured if PowerDVD doesn't play it right, not much else, at least nothing I have, will.

I've never had this problem with other authoring tools. If it's not because of Maestro, what is it?

  4. Well, tried Matrox DVD player (the one Maestro itself uses, but I used the standalone player outside of Maestro). Still messed up.

But, I tried WinDVD and it wasn't AS bad as before. Actually, a lot better, but still stuttery.

So, question remains. Why? Is there something wrong with the other players or with the authored DVD?

I also burned a Maestro test author on a RW and tried it on one of my standalones. It worked, but now I'm worried that when I move to another standalone it won't work again.

I guess to me if it works, it should work (almost) everywhere.
