Pioneer dvr 105 BIG Problem

Ive had my Writer for a year. It has worked like a charm .
Ive used it with Nero 6, dvddecrypter and recordnow max.
Ive used 3t-pro, princo mainly.

Now all of a sudden it doesnt burn any dvd.
It dont recognize dvd-rw (sony, verbatim, 3t-pro)
It dont burn any dvr Princo, Datawrite.

It burns cd and reads
everything.

Ive used this dvds before with no problem.
Whats happened?

I have the latest firmware 1.33

sounds like your laser's shot m8-happened to mine after 11 months-pioneer not goog for longevity-i just got a 107d and i hope this lasts a bit longer !!

ditto on Pioneer 104,this does seem to be a major problem with Pioneer's drives.

Just curious but did any of you guys ever clean your laser?????(you can clean a laser?)
It one of those things to do before you get problems...not after...

Strange. Think i fixed it. I found something about a bug and did this:

Right click on My Computer
Choose Properties
Hardware Tab
Device Manager
Expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers
Double Click Secondary IDE Channel
Advanced Settings Tab
Transfer Mode (Set to "PIO")

Ive succesfully burnt 6 dvds on datawrite with Nero that plays perfect on my HKdvd25. I dont no what i did but its working.
