I tried TONS of methods to rip this movie! I used 2 different versions of DVDShrink, both DVDXCopy Xpress and DVDXCopy Platinum, and even NERO RECODE!! Nothing is working!!

Someone help, please. I'm at my wits end.

    The problem is this:
There is a section of the DVD thats registered as "Unreferenced Material."
It is 418MB of JUST a BLUE SCREEN that gives the movies rating!!

This blue screen seems to be crashing EVERY PROGRAM Ive tried!!

Ive also tried ripping the disc to the harddrive with DVDDecrypter, and THEN using all of the methods I listed above.

Can someone please help me? This damn blue screen is killing me, and I dont know how to MANUALLY remove that section from the DVD. (Very much like Nero Recodes option to check or uncheck a DVD assett, so that its either on the disc, or deleted permenantly.)

DvdShrink only gives you the option to compress as still pictures, DVDXCopy gives me NO options, so someone help DAMMIT!! *lol* Im about to throw a brick through my monitor.......

    Thanks you all in advanced!!

P.S. - Its only the ONE DISC version of the film.

I read that post, thanks to your link, and tried to do what they said (disable video preview). Guess what? STILL no luck. (And Im using 2 different computers.

The exact error is the same one listed on that website:

"F:\" Invalid access to memory location.

I tried to do that, but this time, it WENT through the entire Deep Analysis, and THEN when the time to encode comes, it still gives me the same ol' sh... crap.

Anyone have any other ideas? ANY would be apprecited. Thanks again.

Wow- and you waited a whole 6 minutes too.

This is a message board- not a conference call on the telephone.

To remove the blue screen in DVD Shrink, click the 'Reauthor' button, then drag the movie only (usually Title 1) to the reauthor section. You'll also lose the menus and extras but at least it'll solve your current problem. If you want the extras, drag them over under the main movie. They'll play after the movie with no menus.

    Hey BobK.

I tried to wait at least 6 minutes past your previous post.

It's not that, I actually like the menus on this DVD, I think they were very well done, and I was mainly trying to go for the "Full Disc" opton. I already made myself a movie only without any poblems, but the full disc is my current project/problem. I just don't understand how one VTS set is giving so many people this many problms. (Im not the only one.)

So, sarcasm abandones, any help would be appreciated.

Use TitleSetBlanker to remove the Rating Screen.

  7. I re-encoded with the Big 3 method kept subtitles, menus, and DTS. Worked just fine. Although it did take several hours, but since you have the original DVD, time shouldn't be an issue.

  8. I had a different movie that did a similar thing, but around 900mbs in the "unreferenced material" - October Sky (R4) I think it was - it had about the half the movie again in this "unrefernced material" and it isn't selectable when watching the dvd or an easter egg or anything. It wasn't crashing dvdshrink though, so maybe it's different, but it shouldn't have been there - It didn't show up in re-author mode, but I wanted the menus too. But anyway, I tried it in Elby CloneDVD and this extra stuff didn't show up. I'm pretty sure it was version 2 I was using, but can't remember too well. If you haven't tried it yet, might be worth a go with the trial version - good luck man.

    *edit*
    - you'll need AnyDVD too so you can open the dvd in clonedvd - sorry forgot about that - but there's a trial version of that one too.

I thought this thread had something to do with how they turned a cool cult classic into a cheesy throwaway flick.

I backup up Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 Widescreen version using DVD Decryptor, DVDXCopy, DVD2One and DVD Shrink.

Original Menues and Main Movie only by shrinking that USELESS 800 meg VIDEO_TS.VOB down to 18 megs.

Since i used IfoEdit to NOT play the VIDEO_TS.VOB I did not care what bitrate and visual crap it had in it.

Used DVDXCopy to get the necessary "flag" / "zero byte" files for the "EXTRAS".

I set DVD Shrink DVD output size to 2 gig, then told it that everything except the main movie was "still pictures" without ANY adudio tracks. After DVD shrink process the request., I imported just the VIDEO_TS files into the original ripped folder and OVERWROTE them

    Next I used DVD2ONE to resize the useless VIDEO_TS.VOB down to a more proper tiny size. What i got was a 14 meg VIDEO_TS.VOB, 14kb VTS_*.VOB and a 4.3 gig main movie VTS_*.VOB .
