I have Captured 8 TV episodes in mpg format. I would like to place them on a DVD with a Menu/Chapters at the start of the DVD for each episode.Where do I start with this Project?
1) What format should I convert .mpg file to for DVD burning and which program you think best to do this?
2)Which program to make the Menu/Chapters?
Or if someone has a link to a "How to" for this could you just post it. This my 1st attempt at this type DVD project.
Thanks

First you must know which MPG you have: MPEG-1 or MPEG-2. If there is an MPEG-1 you should convert it to DVD-format (MPEG-2). This can be done with TMPGEnc Plus.
Second, part: when you have all files in DVD-format you must author a new DVD. I use TMPGEnc DVD Author for this and I like it because is very easy to use.
On the Guides section you can search for guides which help to understand how TMPGEnc Plus and TMPGEnc DVD Author works.
If you have more questions post them. -
Thanks for the reply an info. How would I know if something is Mpeg-1 or Mpeg-2? The saved file just has .mpg as an extension.
Thanks -
Here's another suggestion. You can head straight to TMPGEnc DVD Author. When you import the clips, it will either accept them as DVD compliant or tell you it can't import them and why. ETA: although it will accept MPEG1, it will make VCD/SVCD complaint files, not DVD. For DVD files, you will need to encode your MPGs to MPEG2 if necessary.
If necessary, you can use an encoder such as TMPGEnc (different program from DVD Author) to convert them to DVD-ready files. In the GUIDES section to the left, look for "convert from mpg to DVD" for suggestions on doing this.
Once you get them converted, head back to DVD Author to add the necessary navigation structure (menus, chapters, etc.) and create the files needed to be burned to disc.
If you choose, you can also burn the disc without leaving DVD Author. If not, there are other free (ISObuster/DVD Decrypter) and "un-free" (Nero) options for burning your discs. -
OK..Thanks for that update. I have got about every DVD burning and authoring program there is. I also have Adobe Premiere Pro for authoring but man Adobe too deep for me..I need simple stuff...LOL
