    Hello,
I live in Europe (Germany) and I bought a Philips DVP642-DVD player
which is being repaired at the moment (perhaps a damage in transit).

We have the PAL-standard as transmission norm here.

I'm the owner of a Sony KV-29FQ75D multinorm- (PAL, SECAM, NTSC) television with 3 SCART jacks but unfortunately without YUV jacks.

    My problem:
The manual describes (p. 30; VIDEO SETUP PAGE --> Video Output) a RGB-output option. (see also the attachment)

The explanation for this option is:
"If you have connected the RGB out jack to a TV".

    Does that mean the following:
If I activate the RGB-option the YUV-jacks will deliver a RGB-signal which I can pass via SCART-cable to my TV?

If that true, which pins on the SCART-connector are involved?

    That's what I found about the Euro-AV-SCART-Connector:

    Pin Nr signal

    5 ground blue
    7 blue (0.7 V; 75 Ohm)
    8 switching voltage
    9 ground green

    11 green (0.7 V; 75 Ohm)

    13 ground red
    ….
    15 red (0.7 V; 75 Ohm)

How have I connect the YUV-signals to the Euro-SCART connector pins and what about the involved ground pins?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

    What so difficult?
Just get a full wired SCART lead and connect the DVD player to the TV with it.
Then you can use the RGB connection.
(Most TV's only support RGB at the first SCART connection)
