    tmpgenc wont open my file,

    its an xvid file, im following a guide on how to convert to dvd, but im running into problems every 2 minutes why does it have to be sooo complicated

    why do you have to leave sooo little info when asking for help

    it says stream not compatible, or illegal stream or something

    do xvids not work on tmpgenc?

    Try installing FFDSHOW, which is another Xvid decoder that TMPGEnc seems to like more than the native codec.

    They work on mine fine. Do you have the latest xvid codec ? if not try the FFDSHOW as teegee suggests.

    i installed ffdshow, but it still wont open my file in tmpgenc, or am i supposed to change options in ffdshow? if so which? my .avi is 700mb in size

    video codec: xvid
    audio codec: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3
    fps: 23.97
    bitrate 901kb/s
    video src: 4cc: XVID
    audio src: MPEGLAYER3 (MP3) (0x0055)

    In TMPGEnc, go to Options>Environmental Settings>VFAPI Plugin and try raising the Directshow Multimedia File Reader priority to 2. Do this by right clicking it.
