  1. I am trying to convert an xvid movie I have to DVD-R Mpeg. I got to the project wizrd bu8t it won't let me change the file output size to anything under 125.35 percent. I can go above, but not under. The output file is 5.3 GB. I want to make it 50 percent to fit two movies in.

In the movie info, it says that my file is 303 minutes long. It is actually only 102 minutes.

Is there something wrong with my settings?

Did you extract the audio from your avi to wav and use the wav as the audio source in TMPGEnc? I recommend it, Virtualdub and Goldwave can extract wav files from avi's. I suspect you have VBR encoded MP3 audio in your source which TMPGEnc cannot handle properly.

This usually happens when you have an "odd" sound format ... the most popular being VBR MP3 which TMPGEnc does not like as a source.

The best thing to do here is to seperate the audio from the original Xvid AVI file (this also applies to DivX which also tends to use VBR MP3 oftentimes).

This can be done with VirtualDub using FULL PROCESSING MODE or with GoldWave

There are guides on here on how to do it either way.

Once you have a seperate WAV audio file you then load the video file as your video source. It will also auto load as the audio source but that's ok go ahead and load the WAV as your audio source.

Now all will work as it should.

Please note that fitting two films on a DVD is a bad idea as the quality will overall suck unless you use Half D1 and both are very short (like a total of 3 hours or less). IMHO once you put more than 3 hours on a DVD disc the quality is shit.

    P.S.
What I just said here applies to MP3 audio ... if you have AC-3 audio or something else then you might have to use different tools.
