    I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas on how to go about getting into the video business. I know there are a few here that do video stuff for a living, whether it be editing or production. I hope to develop my video skills so that I can get into doing video for a career so that I can get out of trucking, which you pretty much never have a life to do much of anything. Does anyone have any ideas on where one would start? They say anything in life is possible (or should be anyway). For those who are in the business, how did you get your start? Thanks

    In order...

    * dvdrhelp.com
    * friends and family sales (note sales, not favours), ultimatelt recommendations
    * business cards
    * mail shot of local neighbourhood, pound the streets delivering fliers into your immediate neighbours letterboxes
    * simple web site
    * local paper ad etc etc etc

    That's what I did, although my website came before the friends and family sales.

    I should add there's no way I either do this full time or could envisage giving up my job to do it full time.
    I don't think there's enough hours in the day in for video editing etc. to match the salary I earn now, it just isn't feasible although I'd enjoy it a damn sight more.

    tgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have.
