  1. Hey guys, I just got my test results back and I wanted some advice

I was homeschooled so I had to get the GED cert for admission to college and finaid(just to let you know, I am not a drop out or anything LOL).

I wanted to know about the "average" scores if anyone knows. I scored a 3770 total or 754 average per test. The max score is 800 per test or 4000 total. You need 410 at least per test but a total score of 2250 to pass.
    Heres my suject scores
    Soc Studies 800
    Math 770
    Science 730
    Reading 800
    Writing 670
On all but writing it says 99th percentile, writing is 96th percentile. But I wanted to know if these numbers are the same for the total of 3770?

Also, do colleges accept GED class rank as a regular class rank?

  2. Just work out a multiple regression problem inputing your numbers. Then simply write out a null hypothesis and either fail to reject or reject the null hypothesis. That will tell you if the tests are accurate.....

Man I hate quantitative decision making.

Also most colleges should accept a GED no problem. They know there are places to learn other than high school. 30% of my school if not more is Non Traditional students(didnt go to college right away and now are coming back). Not to say that they didnt pass high school right away or anything but I am sure there has to be a few of them that have there GED. Hell, I bet there are alot more people with GEDs than one would think.

From the sounds of it you did very well. I am sure should be able to get into a lot of colleges. However, did you take your SAT or ACT? You should still be able to take those even though you were home schooled. Colleges love those tests. So make sure and take them if you can.

    Good Luck.

  8. Congrats on the great GED scores.

I took mine in '98 so I don't remember the specifics, but the over all was in the 98th percentile.

I was homeschooled too, until the 9th grade, when I was asked to play football for the highshcool. I had earned enough credit through homeschooling to only have to take 3 classes a day at the public school, so my days were good. As soon as football was over, I would leave the school and work for the rest of the year.

Again, congrats on the GED scores and good luck with the SAT's.
