  1. Hi

What would be the best way to add in a video clip to a DvD? I'm mostly concerned with the loss of quality in re-encoding. I have a home movie in which I would like to add to and I don't have the original file, so I would hate to lose quality. The total file size will fit when done.

Is there a way to add/edit the DvD vobs without re-encoding the video. I don't mind to redo the menus.

    Thanks

  2. One way is to regenerate your mpg file using TMPGEnc DVD Author's add video fumction from your VOB's.
You could then add to that file - just make sure that added mpg has same characterisics.
    Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping...

  3. rcb's suggestion will work for you if:
    1) you don't mind completely redoing the menu(s) and
    2) you want your clip at the beginning or end of the DVD.

  4. Thanks gents. I don't mind to redo the menus.

Do you think that TMPGenc DvD Author re-encodes when it converts Vobs to mpeg? or does it just strip vob information and leaves the video alone?

I really hate to lose ANY quality, cause I may have to do this to the DvD several times...

    What do you think?

    Thanks

tmpgenc dvd author doesn't reencode the video. it can reencode the audio if you choose to.
