  1. Hi

I´m just wondering if someone might suggest a program similar to DVD-info Pro for PC. The program is used for checking the newly created dvd and to see if it works alright the whole way through.
I think it´s such a drag when you create a dvd and ram it in the standalone and try some random navigating (try all the chapters and the navigational stuctures) and then later when you use it "for real" you encounter a flaw or two. And due to limitations to the amount of empty room on your harddrive the files have been deleted by you. Of course verification in Toast worked perfectly.
Is there some more reliant way to check the dvd. I´m on Panther by the way. Thanks in advance.

Toast's VERIFICATION process does what you are asking for.

otherwise there is no equal app on Mac that I am aware of

  3. Problem is that verification is always successful. Still I (and a couple of friends) encounter problems when playing the dvd in our standalones. I have to use my friend (and his PC) for checking my dvd before deleting my files in the future. I´ve tried different medias and I use the external LaCie 4x firewireunit by the way…

Whenever I've had Toast verify a disc successfully later to encounter errors it was always because I used dodgy brands of media that have issues on the outer areas of the disc.

The other instance where I had similar issues is when I canceled the verify on Toast ... though I'm not 100% sure why this coincidence happened. My best guess was burning DVDs from a nearly full hard drive caused the error.

as is the the case for the majority of the "bad" burns despite verification completion.

what brand media did you use? el-cheapo $0.80/disk? If so try to get a better brand and i bet the problems will diminish/disappear
