  6. AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter only works on PC, not on Pioneer 510 (standalone DVD recorder).

jbleaf, you need a device to remove copy protection. Start with this thread: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=170803&start=0&postdays=0&postorder

Hi, I'm guessing its CSS Encryption. If so; try using DeCSS (This will decrypt the copy protection enabling you to copy the entire dvd to HD for viewing). You can find it at most of the peer to peer file sharing programs.

Smart Ripper will also do the job!

P.S. I'm not familiar with the pioneer drive but again; I'm guessing it will be fine.

    Goodluck!

  8. You will need another piece of hardware to "de-macrovision or de-CSS" the media. Sima and other companies make products that do this. Do a search on this site for "sima" or "macrovision". MANY MANY posts!

  9. The Pioneer 510 is a standalone DVD recorder with built-in hard drive so you can't use softwares like AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, or DeCSS to remove copy protection unless you plan on playing the DVD on the your PC's DVD-ROM drive after connecting the PC's TV out port to the Pioneer's TV in port.
