Pinnacle Studio 9 came bundled with my video Capture Card (MovieboxUSB), but after browsing this forum and reading a lot it seems there are better tools for SVCD creation.
Although I am a happy user of Studio 9 I would like if some more experienced users can provide feedback regarding the processing speed and quality of the resulting mpeg file.
This Card captures in MPEG format and it takes about 2-6 hours from capture to burn a SVCD. Typically 4 in a Pentium 4 2ghz, depending upon bitrate.
Is there a fastest way to this? I am converting about 70-100 8mm tapes for archival/share with the family in Mexico and I would like to do it faster and if possible with subtitles/chapters.
None of the SCVD's with chapters have succesfully played on neither my DVD players (Sony and Polaroid).
I tried to download VCDimager to make a compare but the site seems down due to a pattent infringement case.
Thanks for any comment you provide.

Look again, the site isn't down. It just has a diverting "protest" site at the entrance. Read the page and you'll see you can still get to the page if you REALLY want to.
The protest is about THE MAN trying to mess with everybody's stuff. Stick it to the THE MAN! 8)
