    Right, here is the script.

I Used Premier Pro to create the m2v and wav file, no problem, normally I use DVDlab to auther before burning but in this instance I have used LordSmurfs topic on de muxing a finished DVD back to my hard drive so I can edit the file and create new menu,s etc the file and re burn to DVD, question is.

What is the best prog to edit a m2v file. Damm Premier, which creates it in the first instance does not allow a m2v file back into it for editing. Is it such that I have to buy another program just so I can edit these files???

    Best answer gets a beer...

    Mayer,

why can't you do the editing you need in Premiere Pro?????

Also, files compressed with the Mainconcept encoder embeded with Premiere Pro can be reloaded in Premiere Pro....

What is it exactly you are trying to achieve????

    Well.

The original project was arranged under Premier Pro and encoded in the normal way then Burned to a DVD RW because at the time I did not have any suitable media that would play on my standalone. The project is only about 2.5gig however, now I have done a reversal back from vob files to m2v as per LordSmurf's instructions on transfering the file back to hard disc for editing.

The whole project is now settled as a m2v and wav file but it will not load back into Premier (I am told premier does not support m2v even though it creates the file in the first instanse).

I would like to know what program is available now that will let me edit the m2v file now. Please bear in mind that a am realatively new at this but hey, the only instance it was burned in the first place was for me to see what the project looked like as DVD and a DVD RW then when I was happy it would play on the standalone I would finalise the program on DVD R.

Am I going about this wrong or what!!!

Just a thought here but ... if you load JUST the M2V video file into an editing program to edit it ... well ... what about the sound?

    You have to edit both!

I would convert the WAV audio to a 2.0 AC-3 audio file then mux (aka multiplex) the M2V and AC-3 into a proper MPG/MPEG file.

At this point you can use Womble MPEG2-VCR to edit without the need to re-encode. Assuming you are just doing some simple cut-editing.

Another option might be to use TMPGEnc DVD Author. Import the M2V and the WAV if you want (or AC-3 etc.) then it will allow you to do some simple cut editing though probably not with the exact precision as MPEG2-VCR since TMPGEnc DVD Author only let's you cut on "I" frames.

    Interesting.

Well, i would have imported both streams to whatever prog was best, I just cannot understand why Adobe do not support the file extention that it creates....
