  1. Do any users here have a JVC XV-S42SL? I'm having trouble playing VCD's without them being VERY choppy.

I'm using CDRW's (Sony), burning at 1x using Nero, use AVI2VCD to convert, tried VCDGImageGUI to create a bin of the mpeg and then burn using CDRWin, still no better.

Could the problem lie in my encoding? I noticed that when I ran VCDImageGUI when it gave me the file properties at the end it said that it was at 30 fps, is this too high?

Or, instead of using AVI2VCD should I be using something like TMPGenc to encode and try and lower the bitrate?

I'm starting to lose faith but I don't want to give up until I've explored every option...

Any help would again be appreciated.

  2. I have the same player and i haven't made ANY working VCD's (picture freezes but sound goes on, blocks in a screen....) I've tried PAL and NTCS and NTCS film but none is working. This player really sucks, or I'm too stupid to make VCD's. That's also possible...
