    Hi All,
I have put in a pioneer 107, but no matter what speed I select its taking 25 minute to copy a DVD from the hard drive. I updated the firmwhare to the hacked version so can now select X 8 with any disk but it still takes 25 mins to copy. My PC is a P3 535mgz, with 128 ram, no other programs are running just Nero 6 and Anydvd to write the disk. All copies come out perfect, its just the time its taking. My hard drives are set to DMA mode and I intend to beef up the ram today to see if that will help. Anyone got any other Ideas ?

    Thanks for the help
    Best wishes Alan

Upgrading the Ram is definately going to help. Also your cpu speed is pretty slow which combined with the ram is probably your problem. What minimum ram and cpu is required?

    Hi,
The drive was OEM, no system spec is mentioned in the documents. why does a dvd need so much power ? I have a P" that wries CD's at 24 x speed so why does a DVD need a lot of power to write at 4 or 8 X ? will get the momery in and give it another go.

  6. Youre CPU is too slow.

    "I have a P" that wries CD's at 24 x speed so why does a DVD need a lot of power to write at 4 or 8 X "

Thats cause a dvd at 8x = a cd written at about 30x abotu 7 times more data.

  7. Your ram and cpu are way to slow..
It took 30 min to do that on my old athlon t-bird .. and my hd was slow too..

If you have slow cpu+hd and little ram.. Your ripping will be awful.. It will work but it will be slow.

My liteon 401s@811s rips at 12x avg 10x
    i have 512 3200ddr cosair
and a 160 gig wd 8 meg cavilar
    athlon 2400xp+

for an 8 gig movie it takes me 8 to 12 mins..
