    Hi there,

Can't comment on the R200, but I have the R300 and according to everything that I have seen, the 200 has the same engine as the 300.

So far, I have not printed too much text with the printer. It was bought primarily for the photo and cd printing. I have printed some letter and such and have been as impressed with the text printing as I have the photo printing. I would have to say that the print quality (for text) is a s good as any other inkjet out there and this is on generic Office Max inkjet paper.

One oddity of the R300 (Probably the 300 as well), if you print in draft mode, then the text is barely readable. Someone else (I can't remember who, or on what website) has commented on this and had even called epson about it. Epson's reply was that it was designed this way to save ink. If you print it on regular text mode you won't see this problem.

I still have an HP932C that is used for day-to-day print tasks. The R300's black tank is the same size as the other color tanks so I wouldn't want to use it as a daily text printer. Of course in actual tests it may print a lot of sheets before needing a new cart.

    Hope this helps some.

BTW, I would highly recommend this printer for it's photo/cd printing capabilities. My friends at work (All technogeeks) can't tell which is the print out and which is the developed picture without looking at the back to see the Epson logo.
