First off, I have TMPGENC, so if push comes to shove, I'll just continue to use it. I made that statement because I'm not asking for conversion tools. I'm asking for help with CCE SP encoder. I have avi files that I'm trying to encode with CCE encoder (Got word that it was faster than TMPGENC). I can load them fine, but when I hit the encode button it say "couldn't find appropriate video codec for xvid, divx3, divx, or any avi file that I attempt to convert. I checked each file with Gspot and it states that I have every required codec or decompressor. I can play the files just fine and I can also convert the files with TMPGENC just fine. Does anyone know why CCE can't seem to locate and use the codecs that I have installed. Thanks in advance![]()
PS and remember I'm not asking for other apps that will do the job, I want to get to the bottom of this problem and test CCE encoder out. Thanks again![]()

You need to do some experimenting. Try to change it from type 1 to type 2. Also you can download canopus codec and avic to change the codec to cdvc. Or you may need to do both change to type 2 and then use avic to change codec for your avi to cdvc. Or best yet learn to use avisynth to frameserve to cce.

If I'm not mistaken I think CCE is designed to encode RAW Avi (DV) video to Mpeg, not divx files. Its not designed as a consumer encoder, its rather one of the best outside of a hardware solution.

I don't know about CCE SP, but CCE Basic can encode from Xvid encoded AVIs. It can work with .avs/AVISynth frameserved video.

Unlike Tmpgenc, CCE wasn't made to resize, letterbox etc.....
If you're running version 2.50, then there's a filesize limit of 2gig..
So yes, you can drop an .AVI into that version, so long as it's under 2gig.
If you've got captured material that's, oh say, 40gig that needs encoding, this is where frameserving comes into effect...The .AVI file is essentially, only as big as the served frame...
As far as codecs are concerned, i'll take a stab at guessing, that so long as it's a registered codec, CCE should be able to encode....
Good luck!!! -

I appreciate all the replies from everyone, but it isn't helping me. What I am trying to find out is why I can't directly load avi files and encode them as TMPGENC can. I can load them into cce but when I press encode it says that can't find appropriate xvid codec or divx3 codec, YV12 ect. I have all the required codecs decompressors or whatever I need. It was also recommended to me that if I used an avs script then it would work. I used moviestaker to create my avs script and I always get this error messege when I load it in WMP, TMPGENC ect. "ACM failed to suggest a compatible pcm format. Man, can anyone help me using English
