I just got the new Tmpgenc ver. h, I believe and they changed the settings again..
In the Inverse Telecine setting what do I do to remove the horizontal stripes?

don't think u have to go that far...don't use "inverse telecine" filter unless u really have to....
try using the "deinterlace" filter with "blend" as your option...see if that helps...also..make sure in your "video source settings" you set that to "even field first" -
I got it to work now.. I did the inverse telecine thing with 24fps (flicker priority) and Deinterlace off. Came out good.
I just did it your way too and it came out good. Now I know there's 2 ways to do this! lol
Btw, I'm converting Emperor's New Groove.. -
Poopyhead - IVTC will give you a much better picture than deinterlacing, especially if you make an SVCD, or a 24 fps VCD. You really don't want to deinterlace if you don't have to. Deinterlacing loses information (1/2 your scan lines, basically). True, doesn't make much difference for a 352x240 VCD, but it makes a lot of difference for an SVCD>
Also, if you make a 24 fps VCD by IVTC, you get better quality because your bits are spread among 24 frames instead of 30 frames. -
Has anyone made a 24fps VCD that plays smoothly throughout the entire disc? When I made a 24fps VCD of Before Night Falls, the thing stuttered periodically, and ruined anotherwise brilliant VCD.

The only time I've had stuttering problems on a Pioneer DV-333 was when I made a VBR MPeg1 at 24 fps - it seemed to stutter whenever the screen transitioned to all black, or had lots of writing on it -> it looked like the bitrate dropped too low. I worked around it by burning this VBR VCD as a "non-compliant" SVCD with NERO - the stuttering went away and it played well.
