  1. Please can someone tell me what each type of file is used for(VOB,BUP and IFO)
    All help gratefully received

    vob's hold the audio and video streams, ifo's tell the dvd player what to do (i.e. play the vob's) and i think bup's are just backups of ifo's

    Explanation:

    . BUP = Backup files of the IFO files.

    . IFO = The IFO files includes information such as chapters, subtitle tracks and audio tracks.

    . VOB = The VOB files contains the actual video,audio,subtitles and menus

    A wealth of info over there......
    Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping...
