  1. Some of you remember the 100 pack deal at OM ($69 - $10 instant - $20 mail in rebate) a few weeks ago. They were giving out Aritas but it also was for Ridata. I just turned in my rain check for a pack and got them for $39. I asked what the regular price was and they said $89.

$89 bucks still seems to be a good price for 100 4x DVD+R disc which allow 8x writing. Unlike the Aritas, these come in a plastic spindle case. The Aritas were Ricohjpn R01 . These are Ridata Ritek R02

  6. If you have ever seen the old Ritek G03 or the shiney top G04, they look exactly like them. Even the color of the write surface is about the same.

  7. I went to OM to see if my rainchecl for the Arita 2.4X 100 Pack has arrived. I did not seem them anywhere. (Actually folks, i love those Aritas. ) I have burnt 75 of them with no problemo and all of them have worked like a charm.

I noticed the RIDATA 100 Pack and went to check the price and they turned out to be 89$ but the name on them came as Arita 2.4X DVD+R. I showed them my raincheck and the manager gave it to me for 40$.

I went home and saw that the DVD+R are silver top with no labels or anything and RITEK 02 as the media code. I thought i got a great deal. I burnt a DVD @ 4X and the PI/PO error rate was high. It did not play in my DVD standalone.(Sony).It played on my Laptop though! I burnt it at 2.4X and they had very low PI/PO but again did not play in my DVD standalone. I am stuck with 98 high quality DVDs which do not play in my DVD player. I am going to test these on a friends DVD player.

Anyone has experience with these media???

    Hi,
I got this 100 4X DVD+R yesterday at OM. They are great, I love them. So far burn 20 smooth at 4X speed and play on my Sony NS315 and NS725. I am not as luck as you are of having the raincheck, I got at full price of $89.99, since I ran out of media and need some.

    Thanks

    arita DVD+R 2.4X1-00 Pcs sp

The reciept said its Arita, but the real thing is Ridata DVD+R 4X and the label looks exactly as stated above.

  11. Yeah I was just there about 30 mins ago and i noticed they had them. About 90 bucks, just as you said. Pretty good deal..BUT, they didnt have any dvd-r's, just dvd+r's. Which was a bummer. They had 50 and 100 packs of dvd+r's 4x, and a lot of cdrs too, they had the 50 pack of printed top (theyre printed with a neat design) cdrs for like 12 dollars i think.
I asked the kid who pretended to know it all about ritek and hes like "huh" i pointed right at them "oh ridata, yeah we just got them in" "ok, do you know if you have any dvd-dash-r's in 50 or 100 packs?" "dvd dash r?? whats that?" "wha?" " oh dvd minus r, no i dont see any" "Um, actually its pronounced Dvd DASH r, not minus r" "oh, um, ok"
I swear to you, these employees are bozos. And I thought I knew nothing about this whole thing.
When they start carrying dvd-r's in 50's and 100 packs, and selling them for the same price online, ill be more then happy to buy them there from now on.
They also (on an unrelated subject) had a 100 pack of purple topped Arita dvd+r's 4x, about 100 bucks i think it was.

Oh, that was a good photo for a phone!!! What are you complaining about?
Heres a fun fact: did you know a baseball player invented the raincheck?

I too was trying to get the Aritas(Ricoh) with my raincheck. Those worked great for me. These were the only disc they had at any OM in my area. It was no telling when or if they would ever restock the Aritas. I do also get much higher PI/PO scans than with the Aritas, but all the Riteks have played fine in all DVD players I've tried. They play fine in even my friends picky DVD players. Ive used my BenQ 800a and my Lite-On 811 to burn these at 8x with no problems. I would prefer lower PI/PO levels but at that price, and as long as they work I'm happy. I only paid $40 each for two 100 packs.
