  1. Hey,
I have a bunch of old .avi files that I got on a pc a while back, and now I can't seem to play them on my apple. Does anyone know of a codec pack or a player that can play these? I've run into this so many times and just gave up, but if I could find a good player, that'd be great-

If you have Toast 6 with the updates.... Open Toast and go to the Video tab then try dropping the file into the window. if it can read it, it may be able to decompress/demux it. If it shows up, hit Commank-K and let it do it's thing....

Not always, but most of the time it works...
