Strange thing happening to me. I can't seem to get TMPGE to load the d2v file created by DVD2avi. It tells me can not open or unsupported. But that isn't the strange thing. The strange thing is that it works at my office computer just fine! I make sure I don't close DVD2avi when trying to open it in TMPGE, I have checked the environment settings messed with them, loaded codecs, you name it I have done it. Another crazy thing is every once in a while it will take the d2v file process it but then when I start the convert it stops and gives the same error. Did Microsoft write the progam? Cause it sucks!

In TMPGenc click on option/environmental setting/VFAPI plug-ins. Right click and increase the priority of the DVD2AVI Project File Reader so its highest on the list.

If you don't see that plugin well than no wonder its not loading. You can get the plugin from TMPGenc's homepage.

Tried that, it was in there and I did turn it up. But guess what I figured it out. Someone should put in the TMPGE problem and tips that you have to put the actual dvd2avi in the TMPGE directory. I did not know this. Once I put the dvd2avi in there it works great! I don't remember where I read this but I know it wasn't on this site. Someone may want to add it somewhere.

I guess that's a good workaround for your problem but you definitely don't have to do that normally.

  5. I think this is a bug. I've had TMPGEnc refuse to open these files no matter what I did. I ended up having to re-install and that cleared it up.
