I have used Anydvd, then used clonedvd with no problems. This time I insert a 7.3 gig dvd into clonedvd, it says there is no dvd in the reader to copy.
Just wondering if anyone would know why some dvd'd would not be seen by clone dvd, by Elby.
Thanks
PS The dvd is of many high quality video backgrounds clips for video editing.
But Nero will recognize the dvd. But will not burn because I am going from 7.4 gig to 4.3 gig dvd. Clondvd usually takes care of this.

Just some follow up it this helps.
The dvd is of many single quicktime files used for video editing. I can open and view the contents of the dvd from My Computer. But the disc is not recognized at all in either of my dvd drives under clondvd. I have a gateway dvd burner, and a pioneer 120s dvd player. I have done backups of dvds successfully with Anydvd and clone. But this neither of the programs will recognize the dvd.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to make a backup of this before I take the software on my trip.
Thanks.
Or how do I burn the dvd to my hard drive as an image, then burn to dvd ? Will this solve my dvd not recognizing my dvd problem?
Thanks -
Sounds to me like you're trying to shrink (compress) a non-compliant dvd in other words just video files that were made on a dual-layer dvd. No transcoding software will do this. You need to put the files on 2 discs.
I am correct in my thinking that this does'nt play in a set-top dvd player, only visible on a computer? -
Yes, you are correct. does not play in standard dvd player, but I can see through my drive in my computer. How do I split into 2 discs with clondvd if it doesn't recognize the pioneer dvd player? Or how can I split it and burn it at all?
ANy help would be gretly appreciated.
Thanks -
Simply make two folders...Call them Disk 1 and Disk 2 for example. Open the disk in My Computer so you can see the files, Reduce the screen so you can see the 2 folders as well, Drag the files into the 2 folders (splitting the files between the 2 folders) and check them (the folders) to make sure they're each under 4.2gigs to be on the safe side.
Then burn the folders to two DVD's as a Data File.
