I downloaded the frameserve thing from cart wheel's site, but where do I install it? in my Tmpgenc folder or vdub? Tehn after I install it is there anything else I need to install or what? Thanks I sorta need step by step instructions

  2. vdub has the fserver built in. FrameServer/Avisynth beta are used in flask and premiere.

First you need to run AUXSETUP.EXE>>install handler>>OK. Then merge the \vdub\aviproxy\proxyon.reg file (rightclick>>merge) to the registry.

Run vdub>>load avi file>>edit if needed>>start frame server>>hit OK on next question>> sav .vdr file as an .avi extension (test.avi)

Start encoder>>load fake avi(test.avi)>>configure/load template>>start capture of video file only (mpv/m2v).

After video capture, go back to vdub>>file>>save wav file. For me, I edit the wav file to make sure i didn't capture the next clip or commercial.

After wav, tmpeg with toolame plugin>>load wave file>>create mp2 file.

    Using bbmepg, start button>>settings>>load input files mpv & mp2 files>>output test.mpg>>set mpeg type>>start mux.

  3. aviproxy mode should be avoided unless it is absolutely required, and then it should be promptly uninstalled after use. otherwise it will cause problems with applications already compatible with virtualdub's avifile handler, most notably vfapi

ok so I did all of what ya said and when I select frameserve and all I get the window. The window says at the bottom avifile only then all the numbers don't move or anything, they stay at 0. It also has the stop serving button. Should the numbers be moving and doing something. I must be doing something wrong, I left it alone for a while and nothing happened. I am using vdub v1.4.7

  5. No, everything is working correctly. The numbers won't move until you open the vdr file in another program (eg. TMPGenc) and start to encode.

Frameserving means that VDub will send each frame to the 2nd program, no 2nd program, no sent frames

*bump* I must be doing something wrong. I have version 12 i of Tmpegenc and version 1.4.7 of Vdub. I select start frameserve then name it and all then try to load it in TMPGEnc and it says cannot open or unsupported. What exact do I do to make it work? I select framserve, name it,then open up TMPgenc then try to load the framserve file but then nothing. So then what?

Are you actually creating the frameserver signpost file?

something.vdr.avi ? 'cause after you name your frameserver (which is a pointless step) there is still another step. (that of creating the signpost file)

  9. you must manually append the .vdr extension(or .avi for aviproxy mode). it's been a while since i've used tmpgenc, but you still may need to adjust the priority of the vfw compatibility reader

I usually name them something like something.vdr.avi 'cause by default TMPGEnc only shows files of the type it recognizes. the .avi extension will cause TMPGEnc to show it in the file selection window, without you having to scroll down to the "show all files" option.

Give that a try and see what happens.
